My stepdaughter’s 8th birthday is this weekend. It’s crazy how fast a year goes by. Zoey is to the point where she is maturing and growing up so much in a year and it is one of those things you don’t realize until you look back.
In the past year, Zoey has had so many firsts. Her first concert (Chris Stapleton), first dance recital, first time floating on the river, first Waffle House experience (the most important one, obviously). She excelled so much in school last year and I can’t wait to see how well she does this school year. School starts in three weeks and I’m not sure I’m mentally prepared.
I’ve created this ritual where I make a video of the pictures and videos from the last year of their life. Honestly, I probably make these more for myself than I do for them (I love reminiscing on the past year with them). This is Zoey’s:
